SPRINGER – the global number one in innovative solutions for the wood industry – announces a major partnership with Holzbau Unterrainer for the production and worldwide distribution of the innovative “SAWBOX”. This innovative sawmill solution represents a milestone in the wood processing industry, offering an efficient, space-saving, and sustainable alternative for companies worldwide.
The SAWBOX redefines standards in sawn timber production. The compact design, enabled by the use of robotic technology, allows all processing steps to be carried out within a single compact machining centre, resulting in efficient production with minimal space requirements. Unlike conventional sawmills, where a log travels a long path through multiple machines, the SAWBOX performs all processing steps in a single operation. This enables efficient production with just one operator.
The benefits of the SAWBOX for the customer are numerous:
- Low space requirement: from 500 m² up to a maximum of 1,000 m² of space allows the SAWBOX to make optimal use of the operating site.
- 1,000 m² of space allows the SAWBOX to make optimal use of the operating site.
- Investment costs: The investment required to set up the SAWBOX amounts to only a fraction compared to conventional sawmill technology. Investing in an in-house sawmill becomes affordable again.
- Sustainability and regional value creation: The use of locally sourced timber and the utilisation of all wood residues support the local economy and contribute to sustainability.
- Long-term price predictability: In-house production enables stable product pricing over the long term.
